Our Story
Hi, I'm Mara Thompson — the heart behind Thistle & Twine. I opened this little studio in Bozeman because I wanted a salon that felt nothing like a salon. No harsh chemical smells, no fluorescent lights, no rush. Just a genuinely warm space where women could breathe, be seen, and leave feeling like themselves again.
Everything at Thistle & Twine is rooted in intention. I make most of our treatment products in small batches, sourcing herbs from local farms and wildcrafting when the season allows. If something goes on your skin here, I know exactly what's in it — and why.
We keep our client list small on purpose. That means longer appointments, real conversations, and treatments tailored to you — not a template. Our regulars are mostly local Bozeman women who've gotten tired of big-box salons and want something that feels handmade, human, and a little bit magical.
